For the seventh consecutive year, the JUNO Awards and Slaight Music have partnered for Canada’s premier artist development program, The Allan Slaight JUNO Master Class, in search of Canada’s next emerging artists. The selected artists will participate in a weeklong mentorship program in Toronto that will include workshops with artists and industry experts, giving them access to tools that will help prepare them in the next big steps of their careers.  
Selected artists will attend JUNO Week 2022 and the 51st annual JUNO Awards in Toronto, ON, where one of the artists will be chosen to perform at the JUNO Gala Dinner & Awards.  
This program is the foundation for emerging artists who aspire to be JUNO Award nominees and winners. 
Submissions are now open until August 6th | 5pm et  -  There is no fee to apply. 
The selected artists will receive the following, valued at over $100,000: 
  • An all-inclusive trip to Toronto for an intensive mentorship week, hosted by Canada’s Music Incubator at Coalition Music with industry leaders and Canadian artists. The mentorship week will end with a music industry showcase night. 
  • A trip to the 2022 JUNO Awards in Toronto, ON, including transportation, hotel, and JUNO Weekend ticket packages to celebrate the best in Canadian music! 
  • The ultimate showcase opportunity: A chance for one of the artists to perform in front of the Canadian music industry at the exclusive JUNO Gala Dinner & Awards in Toronto during JUNO Week. 
  • A professionally recorded and mixed live performance video captured at the Allan Slaight JUNO Master Class Showcase. • A cash prize.

Eligibility: 
  • Must be a Canadian Citizen 
  • Must be 19 years of age or older prior to program start (Oct 18, 2021) 
  • Released a minimum of two original singles within the eligibility period (January 1, 2020 - August 6, 2021). EPs and albums are also eligible. 
  • Product must be released for national sale or be available for streaming online. 
  • Artist(s) must not have been previously recognized as a JUNO Award nominee as either a solo artist or as part of a group. 
  • All applicants must be available to attend Mentorship Week (Oct 2021) and JUNO Week.
